On Day Two of the suspected Corona Virus I felt much better than on day one. This afternoon I have a telemedicine appointment scheduled with my Doctor and will report on it tomorrow.
Symptoms include a little bit of acheness (we are having trouble with the word “achy”) some fatigue and no temperature. I had a few random coughs and one coughing spell. I’m not really sure what a “dry cough” is. I have not felt my lungs at all which is the norm for me.
I didn’t see anyone other than Nurit all day. There is a question about telling people that I have Corona Virus. Nurit is much more private than me and wants to keep it mostly secret. I told a few people and the word is out. The question right now is whether we tell the neighbors in our condo complex.
Thanks to all those who offered to help. Advise or thoughts about making it public would be helpful. As would social distancing.

Simon I would probably tell people about the virus but I understand Nurit’s point, I don’t tell most people I meet here that I’m a democrat.
Since you asked…. For a few reasons (clinical and social) I believe that it is very important that you share your Covid status. First, inasmuch as someone may have touched the same elevator buttons, or other public surfaces as you, they may be at risk. Since you likely have immuno-compromised people in your building, they should be aware. Perhaps you do this through your building mgmt. Second, as with many other diseases, there is a sense of shame related to having the disease. If you disclose your status, you have the opportunity break through stigma and be a “positive” face of Covid. People may say, “Well, if Simon has Covid, then it can’t be all that horrible, he’s such a decent guy!” Or something like that.
Take care.
Rachel Thank you for the informed and thoughtful advice. I decided to tell all of the people with who I had contact in the four days before I became symptomatic. Since then I haven’t left the Condo and Nurit went out today to get medications.
One of the constraints of letting a broader swath know is that even though I had symptoms, a doctor concurred and it disease going around right now every time I tell someone I have Corona Virus they are skeptical and the first thing they ask is have you been tested. It gives me a stigma.
Other advice welcome.
