The impetus for our trip to France was the Women’s World Cup finals in Lyon. Rebecca called last November and asked if we wanted to go and I said sure. We tacked on a few days Paris and a walking tour with Country Walkers to amortize the tickets and we were off. But what about the soccer? It was great here are some photos:
There was a little more nationalism that I like. The crowds were polite and the players didn’t fake injuries too much. The American Women played well enough to win but weren’t as dominant as I had feared. Title Nine has worked. I’m not as passionate about sports as lots of people. It is just a game after all. But it is nice when my team wins.
