At Cortez Park in Phoenix I came across this stone sculpture. It has a henge-like quality. The park is on the Arizona Canal at about 35th Avenue. I have been walking the canalsin an Arbitrary Stupid Goal sort of way. and am now at the point where I have to drive to the last place and walk so that I can cover new territory.
It rained and I saw a rainbow:
Cortez Park has an organized fishing lake that is regularly stocked.
And to prove that I’m not just a Pollyanna here is a photo of some flotsam from the canal.
And another view of the Public Art:
I enjoy urban walking. The canals are especially good because they have underpasses at all of the roads. It’s possible to walk for miles in the city without ever having to cross a road. Yes they are a bit gritty in some places but “No rain, No rainbows.”

My first thought was where is he going with this? I realize now it was all about canal walking and it didn’t go anywhere.
