Sanguinarian
Noun: A person who is optimistic or positive, especially in an apparently bad or difficult situation. From Sanguine.
Example: “Simon the sanguinarian didn’t seem upset by the latest outrage from Washington.”
I created this word to describe my attitude relative to the attitude of many of those around me. Despite the daily tumult I’m pretty optimistic about how we humans are doing. Can things be improved: yes but proceed with caution. Remember we are already living better than a rich person in Victorian England could have imagined.
I am the original sanguinarian.
