The Street Transportation Department of the City of Phoenix has studied pedestrian collisions and in December 2017 they issued a Pedestrian Collision Summary. It is thorough, readable and in the details explains the complexity of the pedestrian injury problem in Phoenix.I’m so filled with hubris that I was pursuing the idea that Phoenix was going to need my help. This is the most dangerous place in the country to be a pedestrian and I thought I could help the city analyze the problem and come up with some solutions. It turns out that they are extremely good analysts with very good data and they really don’t need my help.
