I just spent a week without my laptop because my hard drive crashed. Fortunately I had a back-up on the Apple Time Capsule and no data was lost.  Nancy Harvey our “computer dude” installed a one terabyte drive that is half solid state.  It remembers more stuff than we will ever need and does it faster than the nano wind.  The reason it took a week was that Some of the stored stuff was in an older version of OS-X and it couldn’t get past the password screen.

The lessons:

• Change is…… Staying in place is hard.
• Test your backup system. Crashes will occur.
