We used this auspicious omen as an opportunity to have the official opening of the Rotter Observatory at Curacao.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/simonburrow.com\/\/photos\/photo\/2353468098\/P2200095JPG.html\" class=\"tt-flickr\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/simonburrow.com\/\/photos\/photo\/2353468098\/P2200095JPG.html\" class=\"tt-flickr\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2052\/2353468098_746edba027.jpg?resize=434%2C326\" alt=\"P2200095.JPG\" border=\"0\" height=\"326\" width=\"434\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The observatory  is named after Howard R. who designed the viewing platform and installed the Dual Optical 500 Micrometer Scope.  You can see him on the right in this picture adjusting the optics on the DO500.
