Belen is a railroad town near enough to Albuquerque to have a new commuter rail service and rural enough to have lots of cheap land.  Right now it is quite a poor town.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a class=\"tt-flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/simonburrow.com\/\/photos\/photo\/1533653353\/Sign.html\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"134\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Sign\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2022\/1533653353_7f1e00990a_m.jpg?resize=240%2C134\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>&#8220;Chicken in Foil&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p>However it should grow steadily over the next few decades.  There is a small historic downtown district with a few lovely old brick buildings.  One of them has been beautifully restored into a studio and gallery by<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.judychicago.com\/\"> Judy Chicago<\/a> a famous New Mexico artist.
