The two that have done the best in terms of appreciation are <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gpgallery.com\/works\/search\/205\">William Shepard<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rkentonnelson.com\/index_menu.html\">R. Kenton Nelson<\/a>.  We bought a Shepard but not a Nelson.  Both af these artists are now out of reach for us pricewise.\u00a0 We first learned about both of them in restaurants where they were hung.  In both cases the restaurant owner had bought the piece.\u00a0 It was not part of an exhibit for sale.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a class=\"tt-flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/simonburrow.com\/\/photos\/photo\/1534521940\/Art.html\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Art\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2253\/1534521940_34465a2665_m.jpg?resize=240%2C180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I speculated that there might be a correlation between restaurant owners purchases and value.  Nurit agreed but pointed out that it had to be established restaurants where the owner knew the community.<\/p>\n<p>So our theory is that the way to find good art values is to eat at good restaurants and buy the art that the owners of those restaurants buy.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Life is Good<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are in Santa Fe one of the worlds great art towns and so my mind has turned to thoughts of art.
