{"id":391,"date":"2007-06-22T05:20:27","date_gmt":"2007-06-22T13:20:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/simonburrow.com\/\/archives\/mt-wilson-toll-rd\/trail-news"},"modified":"2007-06-22T05:25:13","modified_gmt":"2007-06-22T13:25:13","slug":"trail-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simonburrow.com\/?p=391","title":{"rendered":"Trail News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In January of 2006 and again in March 2007 I sent <a href=\"http:\/\/simonburrow.com\/\/archives\/politics\/the-mount-wilson-toll-road-is-still-closed\">an email to Mike Antonovich<\/a> asking him to repair the Mt Wilson Toll Road.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a class=\"tt-flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/simonburrow.com\/\/photos\/photo\/589116451\/P3290013JPG.html\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" border=\"0\" alt=\"P3290013.JPG\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1153\/589116451_63c56033ce_m.jpg?resize=240%2C180\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>I received a reply in a few weeks from Shari A. in the County Supervisors office.  The reply referred me to Gary T at the City of Pasadena.  This week I found that email again and followed up with Gary.  This is his answer:<\/p>\n<p><em>Mr. Burrow:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We are working with the Los Angeles County Fire Department on the<br \/>\nrepairs to the City portion and the County portion of the Mt. Wilson<br \/>\nToll Road.  The City is pursuing funding from the Federal Emergency<br \/>\nManagement Agency (FEMA) and the County will be performing the repairs.<br \/>\nAt the moment, we are awaiting confirmation from FEMA with regards to<br \/>\napproval to a change in the original scope of work and the schedule.<br \/>\nThe County is pursuing approvals from various agencies for environmental<br \/>\nreviews.  Due to the dollar magnitude to repair the City&#8217;s portion of<br \/>\nthe road, seeking FEMA approval prior to the start of work is crucial<br \/>\nbecause without funding the repairs become a challenge.  The tentative<br \/>\nschedule for completion is December 2007.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I appreciate your offer of assistance. The good news is they are working on it.  The bad news is they are waiting for FEMA money before they start and the date is entirely unrealistic.  But there seems to be a commitment to reopening the road.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>If you care about getting the toll road reopened and you live in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ci.pasadena.ca.us\/citycouncil.asp\">Pasadena<\/a> it would be a good idea to contact your City Councilperson.
