{"id":2396,"date":"2009-10-16T05:47:10","date_gmt":"2009-10-16T13:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/simonburrow.com\/\/?p=2396"},"modified":"2009-10-16T05:47:10","modified_gmt":"2009-10-16T13:47:10","slug":"a-three-digit-midget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simonburrow.com\/?p=2396","title":{"rendered":"A Three Digit Midget"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I was in the army many of my fellow enlisted men kept &#8220;short-timer calendars.&#8221;\u00a0 When you went under 100 days until you got out of the army (or Vietnam) you could call yourself a &#8220;two digit midget.&#8221;\u00a0 Well time have changed and the much anticipated event now is getting to the Medicare Buffet.\u00a0 Today I broke the thousand day barrier.\u00a0 In 999 days I will be eligible for the National Health plan.\u00a0 I am a <strong>&#8220;three digit midget.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the day my friend Peter turned 65 he had knee replacement surgery.\u00a0 I&#8217;m already starting a list of my own.\u00a0 In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cato.org\/pub_display.php?pub_id=6857\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>1993 P. J.
