left;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laphs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Los Angeles Police Historical Society <\/strong><\/a>is located on York Ave. just West of Figueroa St in Highland Park.\u00a0 It is closer than Dodger Stadium and I didn&#8217;t even know it existed.\u00a0 I never would have heard of it either except that we started to go to Amberwood, a convalescent home, right next door to the police museum.\u00a0 Looking through the fence I could see that they have a lot of cool stuff in the yard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"tt-flickr tt-flickr-Small\" center;\">and what appears to be an urban assault vehicle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They have been filming a movie there this week and before that it never appeared to be open.\u00a0 The building appears to be a very old brick school.\u00a0 It would be interesting to know how it is funded.\u00a0 Check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laphs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>their web site<\/strong><\/a> they are pretty well organized.\u00a0 Admission is only $5.00 and they have a gift shop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
