In 2012 I <a href=\"https:\/\/simonburrow.com\/?p=5687\">donated the collection<\/a> to The School of Transborder Studies at\u00a0 Arizona State University. Every once in a while they ask me to come down and talk about the maps and I&#8217;m always willing to do it. On November 1, 2019 they are reopening the derivative exhibition &#8220;Imagined Regions&#8221; and they have asked me to speak. I&#8217;m going to talk about maps and collecting.<!--more-->For starters I&#8217;m going to try to answer these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why did you collect maps?<\/li>\n<li>Where did you buy them?<\/li>\n<li>How did you know that they were authentic?<\/li>\n<li>Did you really curate a traveling exhibit of the maps?<\/li>\n<li>Why did you donate them to the School of Transborder Studies?<\/li>\n<li>What are you collecting now?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Details to follow.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was a map collector.
