Coiffure
Noun: A person’s hairstyle, particularly an elaborate hairstyle.
Example: “We enjoyed seeing the coiffure of the college basketball players in the NCAA Tournament.”
Pique
Verb: 1. Arousing Interest or curiosity. or 2. Feel irritation or resentment.
Examples: 1. “You have piqued my interest in your topic.”
2. I’m feeling piqued by his superior attitude.”
Egregious
Adjective: Outstandingly bad or shocking.
Example: “The American’s egregious behavior did not endear them to the locals.”
Interestingly egregious archaically used to mean outstandingly good. It is an example of a word on the move.
Memory is much, much more unreliable than we all like to think. Pretty much every time someone tells an elaborate story about something that happened to them a long time ago, assume it’s going to be largely untrue.

Noun: The low point in the fortunes of a person or organization. It also has an astronomical meaning that we will ignore.
Example: “The nadir was reached when she lost her job and crashed her car on the same day.”
Comity
Noun: courteous and considerate behavior toward others. Often applied to relationships among nations and states.
Example: “Comity applied to driving laws but not to gun laws.”
