“Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.”
M. C. Escher
We spent a week in London with my brothers and Tom organized for us to go to the Escher exhibit He is described on his “official” web site as a graphic artist. He was an illustrator first and a artist second. He used repetition, and complex simplicity to differentiate his work and to make it compelling for many. He also had some good one liners.
It would be incredible to see what a mind like his could do with the new tools of virtual reality. Imagine hands painting themselves in the Sphere in Las Vegas or ABBA’s Voyage lighting on the endless stairs.
