We fought Germany and Japan to unconditional surrender in WWII. We won. We fought to a stalemate in Vietnam and Afghanistan and lost.

It is a really bad idea to start a war without a clear objective. It is even stupider to declare a ceasefire in a war you started before the objective is met.

I am saddened for our country. We have done lots of good for the world and some bad things. Thinking we can make Iran stop hating the USA and Israel by bombing them is one of the bad things. I could go on but it is pointless. All I can do is hope that the president and his advisors read Herman Hesse and resolve this conflict.
