An Empty Claim

Think about Michelin’s claim “our best standard …tire ever.”

maybe the bar is low, maybe “standard” is a term of art.

Whatever, it means nothing.

    The Gold standard is now “no standard”.
    A standard is the offspring of a judgement call.
    Musn’t be judgemental; we all have the right to fail, but no right to surpass.
