Motivation

Leadership

“Leadership consists of nothing, but taking responsibility for everything that goes wrong and giving your subordinates credit for everything that goes well.” President Dwight D Eisenhower This is a great quote from Eisenhower. The picture is of a postcard I received from Berlin but it is an English scene. The sender bought it in England when he was on an extended bike trip. Why ask why.

Skill

“A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.” Folk Wisdom A Mexican Poppy flowering near Piestewa Peak during the rain storm on Wednesday.

Time

“Time is precious. Time is money. Time is the stuff of which life is made.” Benjamin Franklin in Advice to a Young Tradesman. (1748) The postcard illustrates the opposite sentiment as did Franklin in his later years.

Happiness

“Try to find the good in everything.” Admittedly things happen for which there is no good to be found so the operative word is “try.”

Shouting

“I’m not yelling at you because I’m mad, I’m shouting so you can hear.” The Captain of an Oyster Dragger. From an interactive exhibit at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Shouting is to speaking like typing in all capitals. Most shouting happens as a way to vent anger based on habit.
